There are a ton of reasons you may want to make a brochure for your restaurant—especially right now. Perhaps you're looking to expand into home catering, you want to carefully lay out exactly what Covid precautions you're taking, or you're opening up your back patio or dining room for private parties.
Whatever the reason you're looking to make a brochure, Google Docs is a really easy way to make it happen. Although the design options in Google are fairly limited (and they won't look quite as polished as they might with a professional designer), it's a great way to get started in designing your restaurant brochure. And best of all, it's totally free.
Here's how to do it.
Then go to File, select New, and click on "From Template."
Next, scroll down and select a template that works for you. Google Docs doesn't currently have any templates specifically designed with restaurants in mind, but they're all clean-lined, easy to read, and editable. Select the template by double-clicking on it.
Now that you have the brochure up and ready to go, you can edit the text and insert your own images. In order to keep the flow of the page intact, choose the "Replace Image" option, available when you right-click or Ctrl+click, rather than deleting the image and re-inserting it.
To create a more design-oriented restaurant brochure, you may want to opt to download a brochure template. Many of these claim to be free, but typically end up being just low-cost—it's not hard to find one for under $20. LucidPress, Template.net, and StockLayouts.com all offer options.
